In 1993, Ms. Cecelia Kanan and Dr. E. Mahesh initiated the Unity School of Management and Education in response to the dire need for quality tertiary education. Now it has grown into one of the premier institutes of higher learning in fields of English and Management. USME is presently co-directed by Mrs. Cecelia Kanan-Farahmand and Mr. Mehraban Farahmand.

Its organic growth has sustained itself on a strong foundation of excellent service through quality. It has three distinct yet closely related departments: Training and Consultancy, Center of Management Studies, Faculty of English.

Close to a decade of service we have gained the reputation for quality training, consultancy and education among NGO’s, the UN system, international organization, Ministries and businesses.

The Consultancy: Our experience with various organizations confidently gears us to provide professional and practical advice appropriate to the task.

Presently, the Training department is a major player in clientele need focused training. A Training Needs Assessment is conducted followed by workshops. Qualified and experienced bilingual trainers of USME conduct management training in Vientiane or travel to various provinces to facilitate on-the-job implementation of skills.

The Centre of Management Studies runs Certificate. Diploma and Advanced Diploma courses in various Management and Administration fields recognized by the Ministry of Education. Courses are conducted for working adults and high-school graduates.

In 1999 USME was awarded accreditation by the Association of Business Executives (ABE), London. With this students are able to study locally and get an internationally recognized degree from London. The programme also enables credit transfers to universities abroad.
